Der niederländische Botschafter besucht die SmartFactory-KL

Großes Interesse an den Arbeiten der SmartFactory^KL (SF-KL)
Pläne zur gemeinsamen Gestaltung der Produktion der Zukunft

Am 6.12.22 besuchten zwei hochrangige Diplomaten der Niederlande die SmartFactory Kaiserslautern, um sich über die neuesten technologischen Entwicklungen zu informieren. Ronald van Roeden ist Botschafter des Königreiches und Peter Schuurman Generalkonsul. Prof. Martin Ruskowski erläuterte als Vorstandsvorsitzender die aufgebaute Shared Production als Option für die Produktion der Zukunft.

Hoher Besuch in Kaiserslautern
Botschafter Ronald van Roeden ist seit 1. September 2021 in Deutschland akkreditiert. Innerhalb eines Jahres hat er entscheidende Stakeholder und Repräsentanten sowie innovative Leuchttürme in Deutschland besucht. Rheinland-Pfalz stand jetzt erstmals auf dem Programm. Neben Vertretern der SmartFactory^KL sprach er auch mit Ministerpräsidentin Malu Dreyer in Mainz. „Wir sind in den Niederlanden durch unsere Arbeiten rund um Industrie 4.0 sehr bekannt. Dort heißt die Forschung in diesem Bereich Smart Industry,“ erläutert Ruskowski. Die Beziehungen zu Rheinland-Pfalz werden vom niederländischen Konsulat in Düsseldorf gepflegt, weshalb der niederländische Generalkonsul den Botschafter begleitet.
Inhaltlich verschafften sich die beiden Diplomaten einen Überblick über die verschiedenen Aspekte von Industrie 4.0. Besonders unterstrich Prof. Martin Ruskowski die Wichtigkeit von Künstlicher Intelligenz, Datendurchlässigkeit zwischen verschiedenen Systemen, Digitale Zwillinge, 5G und Kreislaufwirtschaft. „Die Expert:innen aus unseren beiden Ländern arbeiten seit Jahren erfolgreich zusammen,“ sagte van Roeden. „Die technischen Ergebnisse halte ich für wegweisend für die Produktion von morgen, auch um die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der europäischen Industrie durch neue industrielle Innovationen strukturell zu stärken.“

Langjährige Kooperation zwischen NL und D
Die guten Kontakte zwischen der SmartFactory^KL und den Niederlanden sind eines der Ergebnisse des königlichen Arbeitsbesuchs von König Willem-Alexander und Königin Maxima in Rheinland-Pfalz im Oktober 2018. Die SF-KL unterzeichnete damals eine Absichtserklärung mit der niederländischen Brainport Industries, aus der sich eine enge Zusammenarbeit entwickelte. Dabei steht eine resiliente und nachhaltige Fertigung im Mittelpunkt, die die SF-KL als Shared Production in Anfängen weltweit erstmalig umgesetzt hat. „Die SmartFactory Kaiserslautern ist über die Grenzen hinaus als Vorreiter für Industrie 4.0 bekannt“, so van Roeden. „Umso mehr freut uns die langjährige Kooperation.“

SmartFactory-EU

Niederländische und deutsche Forscher:innen arbeiten außerdem in der SmartFactory-EU zusammen, neben Kolleg:innen aus Belgien und Spanien. Vorsitzender ist Peter van Harten, seit 2018 ehrenamtlicher Botschafter des niederländischen Smart Industry Programms und im Lenkungsausschuss für Auslandsbeziehungen zuständig. Seit 2019 ist in der deutsch-niederländische Aktionsagenda festgehalten, dass Deutschland und die Niederlande ideale Partner für die Digitalisierung und Transformation der Industrie in Europa sind. Das wurde in einer Kooperationsvereinbarung zwischen der Smart Industry und der SmartFactory^KL fixiert.

Plans for jointly shaping the production of tomorrow

On December 6, 2022, two high level Dutch diplomats visited SmartFactoryKL to learn more about the latest technological developments related to future production. Ronald van Roeden is the Kingdom’s ambassador to Germany and Peter Schuurman is the Consul General. Prof. Martin Ruskowski, CEO explained the shared production setup and why the concept is seen as a possible reality for the production of the future.

High level visitors in Kaiserslautern
Ambassador Ronald van Roeden has been accredited in Germany since September 1, 2021. He visited major stakeholders and representatives as well as innovative beacons in Germany during his first year. Rhineland-Palatinate is now on the agenda. In addition to representatives of SmartFactory-KL, the ambassador also spoke with Minister President Malu Dreyer in Mainz. “Our work on Industrie 4.0 is very well known in the Netherlands, where this field of research is called ‘Smart Industry’,” said Ruskowski. The relations with Rhineland-Palatinate are maintained by the Dutch consulate in Düsseldorf, which is why the Dutch consul general accompanied the ambassador.
The two diplomats were given an overview of the various aspects of Industrie 4.0 by Prof. Martin Ruskowski, who underscored the importance of artificial intelligence, data transparency between different systems, digital twins, 5G, and the closed loop economy. “Experts in both countries have been successfully working together for years on the manufacturing of tomorrow and I think groundbreaking technical progress has been made that can strengthen the structural competitiveness of European industries with the new industrial innovations,” said van Roeden.

Longstanding cooperation between NL and D
The good contacts enjoyed by SmartFactoryKL and the Netherlands today are the result of the royal working visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima to Rhineland-Palatinate in October 2018. The memorandum of understanding signed by SF-KL with Dutch Brainport Industries has developed into a close collaborative relationship. The focus is on resilient and sustainable manufacturing, which SF-KL implemented in the early days for the first time worldwide as shared production. “SmartFactory Kaiserslautern is well known just over the border as a pioneer of Industrie 4.0. All the more reason for us to celebrate our longstanding cooperation,” so van Roeden.

SmartFactory-EU
German and Dutch scientists also collaborate in SmartFactory-EU alongside colleagues from Belgium and Spain. Peter van Harten, honorary ambassador of the Dutch Smart Industry program serves as chair of the steering committee and is responsible for foreign relations. The German-Dutch Action Agenda has stated since 2019 that Germany and The Netherlands are the ideal partners for the digitalization and transformation of European industry. This is duly noted in a cooperation agreement between Smart Industry and SmartFactoryKL
